There are several things you can do to get ready — and become confident — before you make that big investment:
- Learn how credit scores are calculated, check your credit score, and clean up any errors you find
- Get pre-qualified for a mortgage if you will be asking for one from a lender
- Learn more about the area you want to live in, such as school ratings, recreation, health care, shopping, transportation, and cost-of-living
